Meet the Admin Team
Principal, Michael Cordova

My name is Michael Cordova, and I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to serve as the principal of Frontier Valley Elementary. I cannot wait to meet the amazing students, families, and staff who make this community so special.
This year marks my 20th year in education, all of which have been proudly spent in the Douglas County School District. 15 years of those years I have had the privilege of teaching and serving in administrative roles within the Legend High School feeder area. Returning to this community is especially meaningful because it is not only where I have dedicated much of my career, but also where my own family has grown and thrived.
I earned my bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Mathematics, a master's degree in School Leadership, and a master's degree in School Counseling. Throughout my educational journey, I have developed a deep belief that schools play an essential role in supporting the whole child. That belief is one of the primary reasons I pursued my degree in school counseling, as I am passionate about ensuring every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
My wife, Mandy, and I have been married for 23 years, and we are the proud parents of four children who have all attended schools in the Legend feeder. Our two oldest have graduated from Legend High School, while our youngest two will be entering their sophomore and freshman years this fall. Experiencing our schools as both an educator and a parent has given me a tremendous appreciation for the incredible staff, students, and families that make this community so special.
When I'm not at school, you'll most likely find me enjoying the outdoors, whether I'm camping or fishing with my family. I also enjoy restoring classic cars and currently have two projects in the garage: a 1978 Volkswagen Beetle and a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air.
I am truly excited to be back in the Legend feeder, serving in the community where I live and one that has given so much to my own family and children. Please be sure to say hello if you see me around the neighborhood or at community events. I look forward to getting to know each of you, and I know this is going to be a fantastic year at Frontier Valley Elementary!

Assistant Principal, Annie Braverman

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as your new Assistant Principal at Frontier Valley Elementary! I am honored to join the Buffalo family and cannot wait to get to know our incredible students, staff, and families.
Education has always been my passion, and I have dedicated the past 13 years to serving students in elementary schools. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to teach in both Jefferson County Public Schools and Douglas County School District. I also spent several years teaching at a private gifted and talented school in Chicago, an experience that broadened my perspective and strengthened my commitment to meeting the unique needs of every learner.
I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, followed by a master's degree in Elementary Education and a master's degree in Educational Leadership. These experiences have prepared me to support students, teachers, and families while fostering a positive, engaging school culture where every child feels valued, challenged, and inspired to grow.
Outside of school, my greatest joy is spending time with my family. My husband and I recently became first-time parents to our energetic 15-month-old son, Porter, who keeps us smiling and on our toes every day! We also have two corgis, Whiskey and Waffles, who are very much a part of our family. When we're not chasing Porter or taking the dogs on adventures, we enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, and making memories with our family and friends.
I believe that strong partnerships between school and home are essential to student success, and I look forward to building meaningful relationships with each of you. My door is always open, and I encourage you to reach out, introduce yourselves, and stay connected throughout the school year.
Thank you for welcoming me into the Frontier Valley community. I am truly excited for the year ahead and can't wait to celebrate all that our students will accomplish. Here's to an amazing school year together!
